The African continent is that of the youth! It has millions of creators in all fields and we also see that international creativity is inspired by African cultural heritage.

In addition to this, you need to know more about it.

However, young talents in African fashion have difficulty breaking through due to a lack of funding and a suitable ecosystem. What then are the solutions to be provided to develop creativity on the continent? Why and how is global fashion inspired by African culture? Are the creators of the continent able to take advantage of this craze? When will the big brands made in Africa take center stage on the international stage?

In addition to this, you need to know more about it.

Through the examples of brilliant entrepreneurs, we want to give visibility to the creators of the continent while addressing the issues they face and thinking about the solutions to be provided.

AFRICA FASHION UP

Although the fashion industry contributes greatly to changing the way Africa is viewed and its potential no longer needs to be demonstrated, there are still obstacles to its optimal development on the continent. The lack of support for creators, the difficult recognition of the luxury sector even when it is in full expansion and the restrictions of means and resources linked to the uncertainties of the textile industry, hamper the announced boom in the sector and the work of African creators. So, what future for African fashion?

Princess.png

The Princess has made waste recycling the spearhead of her project for the protection of biodiversity thanks to the Princess Esther Kamatari Foundation, which she founded in Bamako. With the “Bamako zero waste” operation supported by MINUSMA, it intends to revive waste management in the country and draw attention to the urgency of the situation. Thanks to an innovative initiative, it recycles black plastic waste into cobblestones and street furniture, the city sees a perspective of sanitation which would also produce jobs. Because the Princess is also distinguished by the scope of her social commitments, as a former municipal councilor in charge of Relations and International Solidarity of Boulogne-Billancourt, but also by recently linking her very first passion with the support of the condition of African mining workers. After crisscrossing the mining sites, she selected thirty-four workers whom she trained and paraded as models at the opening of the Afrik'Or show, with the aim of giving these women confidence and dignity back they deserve. Meeting with a woman with an exceptional background.
